Physical Activity and Inclusion Team
The Community Sport Team, also known as the Physical Activity and Inclusion Team, is part of Cardiff Metropolitan University’s Sport and Health Development department (Met Community). We work alongside communities across the city to help people become healthier, more active, and more connected through movement.
Our work is guided by the Move More Cardiff Strategy, which sets out the city’s vision for making Cardiff the best place in the UK to be physically active. We share this ambition and are committed to breaking down barriers so that everyone, regardless of background or circumstance, has the opportunity to move more.
We currently support communities in Ely, Caerau, Riverside, Grangetown, Butetown, Llanederyn, Pentwyn, Llanrumney, St Mellons, Splott, Tremorfa, and Adamsdown, using a place‑based approach that focuses on areas with the greatest need.
Together with local residents, partners, and organisations, we’re working to create active people, active societies, active environments, and active systems so that every community can thrive through physical activity and sport.
