Gold Young Ambassadors

Our gold young ambassadors are young people who are currently within secondary school (year 7 - 11). At this level of the programme focuses on the stage of the young person rather than their age. The gold level of the programme give those who stand out more responsibility, they lead and support the silver YA’s in your school

Leadership Approach

The approach for this stage of the pathway is “leading a team”. Here Gold YA’s will work together and lead their team of Silver YA’s to achieve their role outcomes, develop integral skills, Impact priority areas and show their outcomes. They divide role, share information and ideas with a focus on support specific groups to be healthy and active.

Role Outcomes

There are four role outcomes throughout the entire leadership pathway. Although they don’t themselves change, the expected outcomes and language used changes. This allows for an increase in responsibility, expectation and outcomes at each level. Within the Gold YA level the role outcome descriptors are:

  • Inspire: Inspire multiple groups e.g., classes, year groups, cluster schools, or community groups

  • Influence: Influence senior leaders e.g., educators, coaches, youth or play workers

  • Lead: Lead a range of diverse activities e.g., extracurricular clubs, school sport, or community activities

  • Mentor: Mentor silver young ambassadors to support their leadership and development journey
