We invite young people aged 10-25YP from Cardiff & Vale to join us with Published Author Helen Comerford in Writing for Wellbeing sessions!

Power Up is hosting several workshops over summer break 2026!

Being creative, moving and socialising is a great way to feel well, and learning new skills can be fantastic for your self esteem - so we have planned a summer break packed with it all, for free, for young people and young adults in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan.

Writing for Wellbeing course with Published Author Helen Comerford

Come and join us and your friendly local author, Helen Comerford to explore writing for fun, relaxation and to boost your wellbeing. In this biweekly, 2-hour long workshop, you will:

  1. Write your own poetry and prose using fun prompts

  2. Get creative with games, crafts and more

  3. Create your own journal and journaling prompts.

Whether you're a keen poet, keep a secret diary or have never written for fun before, this friendly workshop will get you writing and creating.

What to bring?

No need to bring anything. Writing and craft materials (and snacks!) will all be provided

This session will be for all young people aged 10-25. Bring a friend if you'd like!

Please note, this is ONE event in a series. If you would like to attend more sessions, you will need to sign up to each individual session. This booking will only confirm your attendance for this date.

  • We will need to gain parental/guardian consent for young people under 18 years old.

  • Support to finance and arrange transport can be discussed.
